FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I cancel my booking?

Yes, you can cancel or modify the reservation according to the terms and conditions specified at the time of booking.

Any cancellation or modification fees are in accordance with our current policies.

Booked appointments can be canceled up to 24 hours before the scheduled time. Cancellations can be made by the customer themselves under "My Account" in the booking panel, and they can choose between a 100% gift card refund or 50% cash back.

2. How hot is the sauna when I arrive?

"Morgenbad" er en pakke hvor du låser deg selv inn og fyrer opp selv, til en redusert pris selvfølgelig.

Felles sauna og privat sauna er begge pakker hvor vi tilbyr ferdig oppvarmet sauna.

Badstuen holder vanligvis en temperatur mellom 50-80 °C avhengig av om kunder ønsker "soft sauna" eller "finsk sauna".

For at badstuen skal holde varmen ved ankomst så er det viktig at forrige bruker har lagt på godt med ved før de går.

3. Why is it taking so long to heat up the sauna?

It takes just under an hour to heat the sauna from 10-80°C.

Each time you pour water on the stones, you cool down the heater and create steam. Although the steam feels warm, but the heater itself becomes cooler, and it takes longer time to heat it up again.

The sauna must be at least 70°C before you start using water. You can also tell if the stones are hot enough by whether they sizzle when you pour water on them.

If the sauna is wood-fired, ensure you add plenty of wood and slightly pull out the ash drawer to improve airflow (but do not leave it open constantly). Remember to keep the sauna door closed as much as possible.

4. How long can I stay in the sauna?

It is recommended to stay in the sauna for 10-15 minutes at a time, then step outside for fresh air, take a cold shower and drink plenty of water. By following this routine and using a sauna hat, you can comfortably stay in the sauna for a long time. More experienced users may comfortably stay in the sauna for 20-30 minutes at a time.
Listen to your body!

5. How often can I use sauna?

This is individual, but using the sauna 2-3 times a week is generally beneficial for both body and mind.

6. How long can I do Ice-bathing?

This varies from person to person and depends on individual health conditions.

The most important thing is to listen to your body and not to push for records in ice bathing. It is not recommended to ice bathe alone. Always go in pairs or groups, and only return to the sauna once the last person has come out of the water.

7. Can I use the sauna if I have medical conditions?

If you have medical conditions, it is essential to consult your doctor before using the sauna. Conditions such as heart problems, high blood pressure, respiratory issues, or pregnancy may require specific advice. Always follow your doctor's recommendations to ensure that sauna use is safe for your health.

8. Do I need to shower before and after using the sauna?

Yes, always take a shower before using the sauna. You should always enter the sauna fresh and clean.
After your sauna session, your skin will be cleansed, but it is recommended to take a cool shower to cool down your body. Using soap after the sauna is not necessary, as your body is already clean and the pores are open; there's no need to fill them with chemicals again.

9. What should I bring to the sauna?

Please refer to the Sauna Rules for a detailed overview of what you should bring.

You should bring a large towel to sit/lie on, another towel to dry yourself with, and plenty of drinking water. Plastic bottles, slippers, bathrobes, and products containing plastic are not recommended inside the sauna room, as they can release toxins in the heat. Store these items outside in the changing room.

Wear breathable materials such as cotton towels or swimwear. Swimwear made of polyester products is not preferabale to use.

10. Can I use my own essential oils in the sauna?

In general NO.

Use natural herbs instead. Most essential oils are intended for bathwater or candles. Many essential oils can be allergenic and potentially harmful when they come into contact with a hot sauna stove. Ensure that the oil is approved for use in saunas.

Do not pour essential oils into the sauna's water bucket. Oils designed for diffusers are not suitable for saunas. Always ask everyone in the sauna if it's okay before using essential oils.

11. How do I leave the sauna?

It's important to clean up after using the sauna. Sweep up any spills and debris, and wipe down doors and contact surfaces with cleaning agents provided in the sauna.
If the sauna is wood-fired, put some wood in the stove to maintain the heat. Refill the sauna bucket with water.
Dispose of any trash in the designated waste bins.

12. Is there a shower in the sauna?

No.
Use cold water from cans or water hose on the location. This is also a good way to cool down your body after the sauna and let your body come to a normal state again.

13. Do you offer drop-in booking?

When using the communal sauna, drop-in options are available. You can pay directly with Vipps from the sauna, but you must book online to guarantee your spot.
